Joe has over 30 years professional work experience in the Human Resources function across businesses including banking, financial services, beverages, wellness products and pharmaceuticals.  His professional maturity and insights have been honed and enriched through multi-cultural assignments based in India, South Asia, Japan, Far East, USA and Europe in leading world class organizations.

A committed and passionate HR practitioner, Joe has a rich tapestry of experience covering the entire canvas of people management including talent management, learning, organizational design, recognition and rewards, employee engagement and relations at senior levels (VP/General Manager) including Board interaction.

Joe’s background and experience have contributed to his firm belief and conviction that people are the core and anchor of organizational capability to generate competitive and strategic business advantage.   In his view, an organization’s people and talent pool are its greatest marketing assets.

Starting his career as a Probationary Officer with State Bank of India in 1972, Joe has worked in Indian corporates before pursuing an international career in HRM with Bank of America, Citigroup, ANZ Grindlays and Coca Cola International.  His last assignment was that of Global HR Director of Beverage Partners Worldwide, a joint venture of Nestle and Coca Cola based in Switzerland.  He is an Economics Honours graduate of St Xavier’s College Mumbai.  He holds a Masters degree in Human Resources from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.  He is a law graduate and has professional qualifications in Company Secretaryship and Training and Development.

Currently based in Mumbai, Joe is involved in Human Resource Consultancy, teaching, community service  and writing a book on People Management.
